Setup

How to Add the DeepFabric App to Slack

Here's how to set up the integration:

  1. Make sure you have an account in DeepFabric. If not, please sign up using the following link: Sign Up for DeepFabric.
  2. Visit the DeepFabric landing page and click the Add to Slack button located in the top right corner.
  3. You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the integration with your workspace.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.
  5. Once the app is added, you will see the DeepFabric agent in the Apps section of your Slack sidebar.
  6. You can start interacting with the DeepFabric agent by sending it messages directly.

You can also add the DeepFabric Agent to a specific channel:

  1. Navigate to the channel where you want to add the DeepFabric agent.
  2. Type /invite @DeepFabric in the message input field and press Enter.
  3. The DeepFabric agent will join the channel and you can start interacting with it by mentioning @DeepFabric followed by your message.

How to remove the app

  1. Click on the Apps section in your Slack sidebar.
  2. Find and click on the DeepFabric app.
  3. Hover on the Deepfabric app in the sidebar and click on the cross button to remove the app.

Pre-Pin the App in Slack (For Admins)

  1. Navigate to the Slack Admin Dashboard.
  2. In the Admin Dashboard, go to the Settings & Permissions section.
  3. Select App Management Settings.
  4. Find the DeepFabric app in the list of installed apps.
  5. Configure the app to be pre-pinned for all users or specific user groups.
  6. Save the changes and assign the configuration to the desired users or user groups.

App Functionality

Available Commands

DeepFabric provides several slash commands to help you interact with the app:

  1. deepfabric-login - Sign in to your DeepFabric account

    • Use this command to authenticate with your DeepFabric account
    • Required before using other features
  2. agents - View and interact with available agents

    • Lists all available DeepFabric AI agents (Default selected agent is DeepFabric's Stitch)
    • Select an agent to start a conversation (Defaults to Main Thread)
  3. threads - Manage conversation threads

    • View available threads for the currently selected agent
    • Select an existing thread or Create a new thread to start conversation
  4. deepfabric-stitch - Reset your agent selection to DeepFabric Stitch

    • Clears your current agent and thread selection
    • Returns you to the default DeepFabric Stitch
  5. deepfabric-help - Get command assistance

    • Displays the list of available commands
    • Shows brief descriptions of each command
  6. deepfabric-logout - Sign out of your account

    • Logs out of your current DeepFabric account.
    • Use this when switching accounts or ending your session

Agent Communication

DeepFabric allows you to interact with various AI agents directly within Slack. Here's how to get started:

  1. First, authenticate using deepfabric-login command

  1. Use deepfabric-stitch when you want to talk to DeepFabric's Stitch and reset your current agent selection.

The app supports various types of interactions:

  • Direct messages with agents
  • Channel messages (when the bot is added to channels)
  • Group messages
  • Multi-person direct messages

File Handling

DeepFabric can:

  • Read files shared in conversations
  • Process attachments
  • Handle various file types for analysis

Notifications

By integrating DeepFabric within Slack, you can receive your DeepFabric notifications directly in Slack. See the image below for reference.

Clicking the View button takes you directly to the notification in DeepFabric. Within Slack, you can receive proactive notifications from your Agents. These notifications display the agent name, type of notification, and the available actions. See the image below for details.
